The Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC) has released a huge recruitment for 4,599 Driver posts. If you hold a heavy vehicle driving licence with a badge and have a few years of driving experience, you can build a secure career with the state bus service. Selected drivers will get a fixed pay of ₹26,000 per month for the first five years, after which they move to the regular Driver pay scale. The online application starts on 6 June 2026 and the last date is 5 July 2026 through the OJAS portal. This recruitment is best suited for candidates who are at least 12th pass and hold a valid Heavy Public Service Vehicle (PSV) driving licence and badge. The Driver post has specific licence and experience rules. Please read this section very carefully, because the driving licence and experience are the most important conditions. The selection for the Driver post is based on two main stages — a written test and a driving test.

🎓 Educational Qualification
- 12th Pass with Heavy Public Service Vehicle (PSV) driving licence and badge
- 2-year ITI course (after Std. 10, with the NCVT exam passed and English passed in Std. 12) or a 3-year Polytechnic Diploma after Std. 10 is accepted as equivalent to Std. 12
- Basic computer knowledge is also required
✅ Selection Process
Written Test:
OMR-Based Written Test (40% Weightage)- The exam carries 100 marks with 100 questions and a duration of 1 hour.
- Each question carries 1 mark, with negative marking of 0.25 mark for every wrong, blank, or multiple/overwritten answer. Darkening option (E) for an unattempted question avoids negative marking.
- The medium is Gujarati, except the English grammar section.
- The subject-wise Total 100 marks are General Knowledge - 30 marks, Road Safety & Auto Mechanics - 20 marks, Gujarati Grammar - 20 marks, English Grammar - 10 marks, Arithmetic - 20 marks
- Driving Test (60% Weightage):
- Candidates are shortlisted from the written-test merit in a 1:2 ratio to appear for the driving test.
- The driving test carries 50 marks, and a candidate must score a minimum of 35 marks to pass.
- Before the driving test, the prescribed height standard is checked. Final document verification is done at the end.
Physical Standard:- Minimum height for male candidates is 162 cm (160 cm for ST male candidates) and for female candidates is 158 cm.

💰 Salary Structure
Selected candidates will receive a consolidated pay of ₹26,000 per month per month along with DA, HRA, TA and other perquisites as per the 7th Pay Commission.
